Friesen Blasts Around Syracuse Mile To Score Third Career Syracuse 200 Triumph

Canadian Overtakes Sheppard With 10 Laps Remaining For Dramatic $50,000 Win To Cap NAPA Super DIRT Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Oct. 12, 2014) — Stewart Friesen used a feathery throttle foot to win his first two Syracuse 200 Big-Block Modified classics during NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week at the New York State Fairgrounds.

But to secure his third career victory in the division's most prestigious race on Sunday, Friesen just put his foot to the floor and tossed his car around the historic one-mile oval like he was blasting around a quarter-mile bullring.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2014) — Brett Hearn did it again in Saturday's 'Salute to the Troops' 358-Modified Championship 150 at the New York State Fairgrounds — and this time with a little dramatic flair.

Seizing the moment when leader Billy Decker ran out of fuel and slowed on lap 146, Hearn split the gap between Decker and second-place Tim McCreadie to vault into the top spot and drove away over the remaining distance to capture the NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week small-block spectacular for the second consecutive year.
